Resuming Day to Day, Spring, March, 2020, Virus Pandemic

Arrived up to Canaan to see what would come of the Virus Pandemic.

This is what I would normally be doing as the weather warmed up and I plan my summer's painting.

I've been painting out of doors and in the Barn recently the last few years as I did in earlier days on Long Island and California.

I mainly made these blogs to organize my thoughts.

Facebook and  Instagram became easier. But I'm not sure the audience is useful. The amateurs cheer me on and the people I'd appreciate lurk behind silent.

Here I can make a remark like that as few will ever see it and those that care that much will probably appreciate it.

Many in the city are sacrificing their lives now with the Pandemic and so it seems I need to make something out of this to point to the reality of my work, my paintings. The finished paintings, each year,  finally have honed all this down to their essential meaning. That is my hope and that this has importance.

I believe in the order I achieve in the observation of Nature. There is a simplicity in it which seems our Culture has spread beyond.  When Culture now describes the Earth concern it is with terms from technology. I believe poetry and painting to have its main function in discerning what is going on, "to the right of me, to the left, beyond and ahead.", to paraphrase the Navajo saying.

The Still Life table now sits with last years Sunflowers--. These are part of my poem.
